Wooden blinds, also known as Venetian blinds, feature several horizontal wooden slats joined together by corded pulleys. This ingenious design allows you to either gather all the slats at the top of the window to reveal the complete view, or simply angle the slats to filter light while retaining your desired level of privacy. It's the perfect modern alternative to traditional curtains — with an unmistakable old-world touch.

Each blind is finished with high-performance coating and premium laminate protection, ensuring lasting beauty and durability that stands the test of time.

FAQ

It depends on the room. Real wood is lighter and gives a genuine timber grain and warmth that faux wood can't fully match, making it ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, and studies. Faux wood (a PVC or composite) looks very similar but resists moisture, so it's the safer pick for kitchens, bathrooms, and other damp areas.

Yes, real wood can warp, swell, or discolour when it is repeatedly exposed to moisture, steam, or direct water. Bengaluru's humidity alone is usually fine for living spaces, but we don't recommend real wood directly over a kitchen sink, in a bathroom, or anywhere it gets splashed. For those spots, faux wood is the durable choice.

Yes. Faux wood is made from PVC or a wood-composite that doesn't absorb water, so it won't warp, crack, or swell in steam and humidity. It's our standard recommendation for kitchens, bathrooms, utility areas, and any window that gets wet or sees big temperature swings.

Wooden blinds come in a range of slat widths, typically narrower slats for smaller windows and wider slats for larger ones. Wider slats give a bolder, more contemporary look, let in more light when open, and stack more compactly; narrower slats suit smaller or more traditional windows. We'll advise the best size when we measure your window.

Yes, that's their main appeal. Real wood has a natural grain and depth that adds warmth and a premium, organic feel to a room, and stains can be matched to your furniture or flooring. Faux wood is offered in wood-look finishes that mimic this closely while being more practical for damp areas.

The slats tilt to control light precisely, from fully open for maximum daylight to closed for privacy and shade. When closed they block most direct light and views, though a little light can pass between the slats. For full blackout you'd need to pair them with curtains or a separate blackout blind.

For regular upkeep, dust the slats with a soft cloth, duster, or a vacuum brush attachment, tilting the slats to reach both sides. Faux wood can be wiped with a slightly damp cloth, while real wood should be cleaned with a dry or barely-damp cloth to avoid water damage. Avoid soaking real wood or using harsh cleaners on either.

Both types are sturdy and hold up well to daily use when operated gently. Real wood is hard-wearing and stays looking good for years as long as it's kept away from moisture, while faux wood is highly resistant to moisture, fading, and warping, which makes it the longer-lasting option in tough conditions.

Real wood slats are heavier than fabric or aluminium, and a wide blind can become heavy and harder to raise and tilt. For very large windows we often split the run into two or more blinds, or suggest lighter wider slats or faux wood, so the blind stays easy and balanced to operate.

Wooden blinds are usually operated with a cord or wand to raise and lower the blind and a separate wand or cord to tilt the slats for light and privacy. We can also supply child-safe or motorised options for convenience and safety, which is worth considering on large or hard-to-reach windows.
